Ross Barkley, John Stones, John Lundstram and Chris Long have all been included in the England Under-20s squad for this summer’s World Cup in Turkey.
The quartet were named in the provisional 35-man contingent and, after a short training camp last week, have now been selected in Peter Taylor’s final 21-man group.
Taylor was present at several of Everton Under-21s’ fixtures towards the end of the season, including the narrow play-off semi-final defeat against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane where Long was on the scoresheet for the young Blues.
The England squad will meet up at St George’s Park next Monday to begin preparations for the tournament, before departing for Turkey a week later for further training.
The Young Lions begin their campaign with group matches against Iraq (23 June), Chile (26 June) and African champions Egypt (29 June).
The knockout phase for the 24-nation tournament will then begin on 2 July.
Left-backs Jake Bidwell and Luke Garbutt were both named in the provisional squad but didn’t make the final cut.
