James McCarthy likely to leave Everton shortly

Everton midfielder is likely to leave the club in the summer according to a report in the Liverpool Echo.

The combative midfielder has struggled to regain his midfield place following the appointment of Marco Silva last summer and the 28 year old is likely to look for new pastures.

McCarthy had been left out of the Republic of Ireland squad to allow him to sort out his own future and he would be allowed to leave the club permanently or on loan as he looks to be out of Silvas plans.

The same article states that Silva wants to bring in Andre Gomes permanently aswell as one other midfielder, with Mo Besic also likely to leave the club.
