Everton, Spurs, Newcastle and West Ham chase defender
Everton manager Roberto Martinez is set to face some stiff competition for Palermo centre back Eziquiel Munoz in January as a host of clubs look to take advantage of his contract running out in the summer.
Munoz can sign a pre-contract agreement in January and a host of clubs have joined Everton in enquiring about the player including Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United and Newcastle United.
The 24 year old Argentine has been with the club for four years since signing from Boca Juniors and has impressed for the club with Sunderland rumoured to have tabled a £4m bid.
Nevertheless, Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has remained adamant that Munoz will not be leaving, along with midfielder Edgar Barreto, telling Radio Sportiva: “Their future is Palermo. There is no chance of them leaving. Be patient.
“You’d be fascinated if I told you the about the salaries, but I can’t give you that information.
“I don’t think however, that they’ll leave, I think we will find a common ground.
“Both Munoz and Barreto are very fond of Palermo and me, as I’m fond of them. We’ll try to find a solution together.”
