Arsenal join Everton in the race for Gareth Barry
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is plotting a summer move for Everton’s on-loan midfielder Gareth Barry according to the Express.
The midfielder joined Everton in the summer on a one year loan contract from Manchester City and his contract is up this summer and a host of clubs are looking to sign the steely midfield man.
Arsenal were tempted to sign Barry last summer only for Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini to block the move to stop Barry joining a title rival.
Everton manager Roberto Martinez will look to try and talk his midfield lynchpin into signing a permanent contract at the club and has already said that Barry has a place at Goodison Park for aslong as he wants, but the gunners may look to gazump the blues.

Why do all these destabilizing stories seem to originate from John Richardson at the Express? Could it be as a Liverpool supporter he fears Everton enough to run these atrocious stories?
