Benfica to rival Everton for Liege striker
Benfica have emerged as surprise contenders for the signatures of Standard Liege striker Michy Batshuayi.
The twenty year old striker is in a tug of war battle for his signature and his agent Christophe Hentoray has caused a big rift by publically announcing his fixed fee. Liege don’t want to sell the striker in January, but would be prepared to listen to offers in the summer.
Benfica could step in as they look to offload their striker Rodrigo Moreno to a Russian club and are looking at Batshuayi to fill the void.
Roberto Martinez is keen on the striker, but allegedly told Everton fans in Tenerife that he thought the fee was too high, so may look towards other targets.
