Besic: We want European football again next year
Everton midfield Muhamed Besic has targeted European football next year as the blues look to rebuild following a poor Premier League campaign last season.
Everton suffered in the league, but put in a string of impressive performances before succumbing to Dynamo Kiev later on in the competition and although it means a string of tough fixtures, Besic is keen to do it again.
He said: “It was a fantastic experience. It was a big thing that everyone wanted.
“Next year we will try and get into Europe again and, if we do, hopefully the next time we will do better.
“Last season we played a Sunday match, then Thursday, and again on a Sunday, so we would have three games in seven days. I think that all of us learned a lot from that.”
“It was a big experience to see how the players would focus and how they would eat and prepare as that is so important. Everything that was done, I tried to take a lot of information from it to help me to develop.
“You have to focus more on your preparation because when you’re playing three 90 minutes matches in seven days and you want to win all the games and it’s difficult.
“But we want it again and that will be one of our big motivations this season.”
Would you want Europa league football again? Could Everton make the Champions League?
