Bill Kenwright would be crazy to sell John Stones this summer
Everton chairman Bill Kenwright faces a massive summer ahead of him as the quiet voices of disgruntled fans start to become louder and louder.
The 69 year old Everton chairman is a man that has been under pressure for a long time with a certain sector of Everton supporters believing that he has broken promises and lied about certain commercial goings on.
The chairman still has a huge support though with a lot of fans still believing that he has the clubs best interest at hearts.
This summer could be an important summer for the direction that many Everton supporters will follow, with many not deciding either way if they support or are against the board.
With Chelsea chasing fan favourite John Stones this could bring this to a head.
One thing that can’t be argued is that Kenwright is a shrewd negotiator when we want to sell players and generally gets a good price for our players. That may not be enough in the John Stones chase.
Everton manager Roberto Martinez has already come out in the press and said that the club don’t need to sell players to balance the books and although Stones would command top dollar, we should be a club that is no longer looking to sell even if the price is that high that we have to think about it.
Stones is a fans favourite. A new breed of centre back that plays with a maturity beyond his years. He is a future England captain and a thoroughly nice bloke too, being commended by the FA for the work he does for charity. He is a down to earth Yorkshire lad that loves it at Everton.
Everton would be silly to sell the player this season. England have the European championship next year and Stones will be looking for a starting spot for England. If there is one thing we know about major tournaments – it’s that it pushes a players price through the roof and puts a previously not well known player onto the World Stage.
Kenwright has to make the right call. He has to thwart all Stones bids no matter what the price for this season. If Stones goes then the fume amongst many Evertonians could be HUGE.
We no longer want to sell our best players to fund new arrivals.
Will Stones be at Everton next season?

We have to hold on to Stones this season ,he would leave a big gap in our defence if he went .. get a buyer for our club Bill, not our players !!!!!!
