Boss says that Everton target will probably leave in January
Leeds United manager Steve Evans has said that Everton target Sam Byram will likely leave Elland road in January after the 22 year old defender refused a new contract.
Byram has been linked to Everton for a number of years and now looks set to leave the West Yorkshire club in an £8m move.
Leeds manager Steve Evans said: “If Sam doesn’t want to commit his future to us then I don’t want him around because we only want players here who want to be at this football club.
“There is no point in him sitting around being a bit-part player here. He’s got too much in the locker for that.
“I’ll still involve him for as long as he is here, and I would love him to be a part of our future.
“We shall have another go at trying to get him to stay but, if he has not signed a deal with us by January, then you have got to think somebody’s going to come and buy him.”
Would Byram be a good signing for Everton?

As a Leeds fan, I’d be absolutely gutted to see Byram leave – he’s a local-bred talent and I’d love to see him stay on with us. I would however be happy for the lad to get a move to a big team with a great history in EFC. For any Everton fans, you’d be getting a versatile young player with bags of potential, and one who I believe can go on to achieve great things with your club.
Cheers Paul, appreciate the insight
