Czech midfielder Josef Husbauer flattered by Everton interest
Everton are being linked with a transfer for Czech Republic midfielder Josef Husbauer, but no bid has been made yet. The Sparta Prague midfielder has made 6 appearances for his national team and has scored 9 goals in 11 appearances this season for his club.
His agent Ondrej Chovanec has said that a number of clubs are interested in the 23 year old midfielder and has hinted that Everton may be poised to bid, he said: “It would flatter us if Everton were interested,” he said.
“At the moment, I don’t want to support any speculation because the transfer window is not open yet.
“The truth is, however, that big clubs are interested in Josef. There is also interest in Germany and Belgium.
“When somebody scores nine goals (as a midfielder), then it is logical he attracts interest.
“Anyway, Sparta will have the first and final word in this. I need to discuss the situation with them before I can be specific.”
In total Husbauer has a brilliant goalscoring record for his club, scoring 20 goals in 28 starts. Roberto Martinez has sent scouts to watch Sparta Prague in action with a view of running the rule on Husbauer.
