Manchester United have made a £15m bid for Everton’s Leighton Baines but the club have rejected the offer, with the chairman Bill Kenwright determined he will not be sold according to the Guardian
The move marks the first time United have divided their interest in Baines and his team-mate Marouane Fellaini.
Previously the manager, David Moyes, has made joint offers for the left-back and midfielder, with the most recent of these a £36m valuation that was rejected.
While Baines may remain at Everton the Belgian FA tweeted that Fellaini did not train on Monday and would be joining up with the national team later.
Although there was no explanation why, it may be that Fellaini and his representatives were trying to close the deal with United.
