Erwin Koeman – Everton need to add players to the squad
Everton assistant manager Erwin Koeman has emphasised that the club need to add players to the matchday squad, so that they are able to cope with the demands of a long season.
Koeman feels that they need to increase the squad size each season if they are able to compete with the best in the division and feels the signing of Yannick Bolasie is a massive boost.
“We need a big squad and a good squad to survive the whole season,” he said.
“Because it is a long year.”
Erwin has been impressed with what he has seen of Bolasie so far.
“Yannick is a very good player, a strong player. He’s a runner who can make goals. We need that,”
“Every year you need fresh people in the squad and it makes other players more sharp.
“From what I have seen, he has enjoyed training and he’s enjoying playing football. He has to show [his ability], of course, but I am confident of that.
“He has shown these last few years that he is a good player – he likes to work, he likes to run and has individual qualities.”
