Everton interested in loan move for ex-Spurs star
Everton have joined a number of Premier League teams in the fight for ex-Spurs star Clint Dempsey. The USA international joined the Seattle Sounders from Tottenham Hotspur’s in the summer transfer window and has been granted permission to come to the Premier League on loan when their season finishes in January.
Seattle general manager Adrian Hanauer said: “Clint’s contract allows him to go on loan for the off-season.
“All parties are working on a deal and we won’t be surprised if it happens.”
Spurs have first refusal on their old player, but Everton, Aston Villa and Fulham are also looking to make moves according to The Mirror
Dempsey has been a massive hit in the English Premier League since signing for Fulham from the New England Revolution in 2006. He scored 50 goals in 184 appearances for the London club from midfield which prompted a move to rivals Spurs where he made 29 appearances scoring 7, but he only stayed with the club for one year.
Roberto Martinez will look to add some bite to the Everton midfield after losing Darron Gibson for the rest of the season.
