It is looking increasingly likely that Merseyside duo Everton and Liverpool are set to make offers for Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, according to Newcastle’s Shields Gazette.
The player has been ruled out of a move to the Toon already, with the Frenchman’s agent, David Venditelli, coming out and saying that the 23 year-old would only leave “for a team which plays in the Champions League, or at least one which is very close to it.”
“Some English clubs are rushing to the scene.” he added.
It has been further rumoured today that Everton boss Roberto Martinez rates Lacazette and may pursuit him, with last season’s prime striker Romelu Lukaku looking increasingly unlikely to return to Goodison Park. Lacazette scored 15 goals last season and has featured for France at all levels.
It is thought that a bid of £10 million is likely to be accepted by the forward’s club and terms could then be negotiated at a reasonable level for both parties.
