    Everton and Newcastle interest in £15m Doubmia

    Russian press have today linked Everton and Newcastle for a move with CSKA hotshot Seydou Doumbia.

    Russian Newspaper Izvestia says that the Ivorian, who has scored 13 times in 14 league appearances this season is on the wanted list of Everton manager Roberto Martinez and Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew as both teams look to add firepower ahead of the new season.

    Martinez seems to enjoy working with Ivorian strikers having signed Arouna Kone and Lacina Traore during his time at Everton and with an impressive  49 goals in 74 games for CSKA and 50 goals in 64 appearances for former club Young Boys, Doumbia certainly has goalscoring pedigree.

    Much will depend on where Everton finish the season and if Everton finish in the Champions League places they may have more money to put towards any potential offer.
