    Everton and Sporting Lisbon enquire about Estigarribia

    Everton and Sporting Lisbon have enquired about Chievo Verona’s part-owned winger Marcelo Estigarribia according to Calcio Mercato’s Gianluca Di Marzio.

    The 26 year old is on-loan from Deportivo Maldonado in Uraguay who own half of his rights and according to Di Marzio, three days ago Everton boss Roberto Martinez made an enquiry.  The former Juventus man was on his wanted list when he was at Wigan Athletic but a deal was never brokered.

    According to the article a fee of around €700k would secure a loan deal and then €3.5m would secure his permanent signing.

    The Paraguayan has played 15 times this season and has 1 assist but he wouldn’t require a passport to play in the English Premier League as he has an Italian passport.

    The winger has played thirty two times for Paraguay scoring once.

    Sporting are also interested but so far all bids have been too low.

    3. I thought these part owned deals were forbidden after Tevez ,Mascerano and the West Ham debacle. Still this lad looks to be a bargain at £3.5.Don’t really see us needing another winger though.Ade,Kevin and Bryan are probably enough.
