West Bromwich Albion and Everton are seriously interested in Ola Toivonen of PSV according to Dutch media outlet Voetbal International. Neither club has contacted the Eindhoven club yet, but it is expected to happen shortly.
Just before Toivonen went away with Sweden he was told by head coach Phillip Cocu that he would extend his contract or he would be sold as his contract comes to an end in 2014. If not, then Toivonen consider a place on the bench.
Toivonen is furious about the preparation of PSV and described the action as disrespectful. Toivonen is open to both clubs. PSV requires a transfer fee of 4.5 million euros for Toivonen. That is the same amount as the club paid 4.5 years ago to the Swedish Malmö FF. Two years ago PSV turned down an offer of €8m from Liverpool. This season, the Swede missed 5 months out with a hamstring injury. Roberto Martinez is known to be an admirer of Toivonen.
Toivonen can play in midfield or as a striker.
