Everton announce John Aldridge as Head of Academy
Everton have announced that former Tranmere legend John Aldridge is to become their new Head of Academy following the sudden departures of American Dr Peter Vint and .
Aldridge will also take on the role of club ambassador and will interact with Everton supporters on matchday including Q&A sessions on his twitter account.
Vint, recruited from the Team USA Olympic Committee, has made a sudden and unexpected departure days after he announced the appointment of a new head of Academy coaching.
Dave Adams also quit the academy just days after being announced in the new role and the appointment of “Aldo” is seen as a move to appease the clubs fans.
The 68 year old former Republic of Ireland striker said of his appointment. “This is a great day for me and my family. Long have I dreamed of working for the club I supported as a boy. It will be an honour to represent these amazing fans.”
The Everton Forum looked to seek further comment from Aldridge on twitter, but we are blocked.
Aldridge is already working on plans to bring a new academy team with him and The Everton Forum sources understand that Pot Noodle Fringe, Fanta Scruff and Bob Paisley are names on Aldo’s shortlist.
