Everton Battling Newcastle for Former Player
Everton are facing a transfer battle for Manchester City’s forgotten man Jack Rodwell according to the Express.
The England midfielder has barely played since signing for the wealthy Manchester club and Roberto Martinez looked to tie up a deal for him in January to bring him back to Goodison Park.
Rodwell joined City in August 2012 for £15m but has found life at the Etihad hard as a series of injuries and poor form has seen him on the periphery of the squad.
Newcastle manager Alan Padrew is also interested in Jack who is still only 23 and sees the midfielder as the man his squad needs to push onto the next level.
Would you welcome Jack back or do you think with his injury record it is too much of a gamble? Comment below or have your say on our EVERTON FORUM

It will be no battle if you are going head to head with our shower. A club who has no interest in winning a cup or getting into Europe will be no attraction for anybody decent.
haha, true mate. Our clubs have trodden similar paths over the last few years!
If he is now free of the muscular niggles that have plagued him I’d have him back certainly. Pellegrini chose him over Gareth Barry last year and then had to admit that injuries and setbacks made him the wrong choice. The only black mark over Roberto’s first year has been the transfer dealings which were invalidated by injury, namely Kone,Alcaraz and Traore..Also every warm body has to count as a viable option from day one,or our campaign is sure to hit the buffers before too long. They do say never go back don’t they? Yet Steven Pienaar has made a go of it and perhaps the ethos at Everton is such that players can successfully return. Jack playing most of our competitive games is a no brainer.Jack sitting at Finch Farm or at home in Southport is an absolute no no.
Jack should remember a certain person called Dan Gosling – his career did not exactly flourish playing for the Magpies. Dan has since moved to Bournemouth – when was the last time Bournemouth played in the Premier league?
