Everton have made a deadline day swoop for Feyenoord defender Bruno Martins Indi, as they look to bolster their defence for the coming Premier League season according to The Telegraph
The Dutch defender has been touted as one of the best up and coming defenders in the game. Throughout the transfer window, he was continually linked to big name clubs across Europe, but it looks likely he will join Everton.
Despite his tender age, Martins Indi has racked up ten appearences for the Dutch national team so far, even scoring two goals, an impressive feat for a defender.
The 21 year old is mainly a centre back but has the versatility to play on the left hand side of defence as well.
Martins Indi is also keen to prove himself on a bigger level in order to find a place in Louis van Gaal’s World Cup team and the Premier League is almost the perfect place for it.
Martins Indi will have to contend with Phil Jagielka and fellow countryman Johnny Heitinga for a starting position, but the age of the two means Martins Indi is like to get solid playing time.
Everton will have to rush their negotiation process as the transfer window ends at the end of the day, but will likely secure the services of the young Dutchman.
