Everton CEO Robert Elstone excited by proposed secret new stadium location
Everton CEO Robert Elstone has confirmed (at a recent meeting with the Everton Football Club Shareholders Association quarterly meeting on the 14th of March) that the club are in discussions with Liverpool City Council over a location for a new stadium and that he is excited about the proposed plot.
Mr Elstone wouldn’t however reveal the location but was pushed by Everton Shareholders Executive committee member Mark Grayson that if the club are to leave Goodison Park that the new stadium should be as close to the city centre as possible.
The Chief Exec went on to confirm that the club was in discussions with partners over delivering an exciting new stadium and the design would not be the same as the failed destination Kirkby tesco stadium and that the club were speaking with architects to construct a stadium which would support “a main stand of high standard” and support the clubs corporate and hospitality ambitions.
Mr Elstone will meet members of the shareholders association again to discuss the plans further.
