Everton deals linked to arrested Belgian scandal agent
The transfers of Henry Onyekuru were conducted by the agent at the centre of a scandal in Belgium as police investigate a range of possible financial crimes according to Punch.ng.
Iranian agent Mogi Bayat was arrested in connection with their CLEAN HANDS investigation, which is looking at possible money laundering, hidden payments in transfers and potential match-fixing.
Bayat was involved in the initial transfer of Onyekuru from Belgian side Eupen to Everton. Then the loan deals to Anderlecht and Galatasaray.
There is no indication that there is any wrong doing from the club in any of the deals but the Iranian was understood to have earned a large fee from the Nigerians move from Eupen.
Everton also paid agent William D’AvilaDabela £500,000 for working for them on the deal although that payment is being disputed by a rival in a case that the FA will hear shortly, according to the report.
