Young left-back Luke Garbutt’s loan stay at Colchester has been extended by a further month.
Garbutt will now remain at the Weston Community Homes Stadium until 10 November.
The club have also given the lad permission to play in the FA Cup.
So far Luke has played four times for Joe Dunne’s side, featuring in three draws and a defeat to high-flying Wolves.
“Everton have been very good about it,” explained Colchester Manager Joe Dunne
“Luke had wanted to stay, wanted to be here, which is key.
“We should embrace the fact that an England under-20 international is wanting to stay here.
“He’s enjoying being coached and enjoying playing games.
“Games like last Saturday (against Wolves) can only help.
“Luke never hid once, and always wanted the ball. He’s going to be a good character for someone in the future.
“And he will go back to Everton a better player for it,” added Dunne.
