According to Italian football sources Fiorentina have turned down a €25m offer from Everton for their Croatian striker Nikola Kalinic.
Sky Sports Italia claim that Everton came in with a proposal of €20-€25m, with performance bonuses topping up the fee, a bid which was rejected. Fiorentina have thought to placed a €35m tag on the Crotian hit-man who scored 12 league goals in 36 Serie A games last season.
Kalinic spent 2 seasons at Blackburn Rovers leaving the Lancashire club in 2011 before making a move to Dnipro in Ukraine then onto Fiorentina. The Croatian has scored 12 times in 30 games at international level.
Everton manager Ronald Koeman is seeking reinforcements for the striker position with Arouna Kone being the only current backup for Romelu Lukaku. However, it is thought that Everton may now turn their attention elsewhere with 2 and a half weeks left of the transfer window.
