Everton have announced their new shareholders liaison officer ahead of tonight’s annual general meeting.
Paula Fenwick will meet shareholders at the Philharmonic Hall this evening during the club’s first AGM in five years.
The former megastore and ticket office worker, who lived on Gwladys Street as a child, has worked at her beloved Blues for more than a decade.
She said: “I absolutely love what I do. I love working here. In every role I’ve had at the club, I have worked with the fans and I love having that constant contact with different people and helping them.
“All my time spent on the switchboard and in the customer service team has given me the best possible background to take up this new role.
“I know the job inside out so whatever query I’m faced with, I’ll do my utmost to resolve it.
“Most of all, I understand what the club means to fans and I think that’s so important. I can talk and I am approachable. I’m looking forward to getting to know the shareholders.”
Paula, whose two sons both have Goodison season tickets, will be the first point of contact for shareholders with queries over anything from tickets to other benefits.
Hundreds of shareholders are expected at the Hope Street venue for tonight’s 6pm meeting, which was organised after an association ballot, and will be attended by chairman Bill Kenwright, chief executive Robert Elstone and the rest of the club’s board apart from US-based Robert Earl who is unable to be present.
The shareholders association will ask for the board to explain their decision not to hold AGMs since 2008.
Then Elstone has been asked to provide a break-down of the club’s financial performance over the last five years, and its plans for the future.
A question and answer session with the board will follow, before a shareholders resolution is passed on whether to ask for the permanent reinstatement of annual general meetings.
Is this a good move for the club or a cynical ploy to quell shareholder dissatisfaction? Have your say at www.theevertonforum.com
Once again Robert Earl is nowhere to be seen. Should he get out our club?
