    Everton in for number 1 choice Ajax defender

    Everton are set to move for Ajax right-back Ricardo Van Rhijn in a £2m move according to the Daily Mirror.

    According to the paper the Dutch defender was Martinez number 1 choice over former target Sam Byram and with that deal falling through he may now move for the Holland star.

    The 24 year old has played 8 times for his country and has made over 104 appearances for the Dutch club in the Eredivisie.

    Everton are in the hunt for competition in the right-back position.
