    Everton interested in cut-price Stambouli

    Everton are interested in a cut-price deal for Montpellier player Benjamin Stambouli who is due to leave the French club this summer.

    French newspaper L’equipe says that the 23 year old defender, who can also play in midfield has been watched numerous times by Everton scouts and is also attracting the attentions of Newcastle United.

    Montpellier chairman Louis Nicollin has stated that the player will be sold this summer and he fits the Everton bill – Cheap and young!

    Stambouli has made 105 appearances for the club, scoring 3 times.  He has represented France at Under 21 level 14 times and it is thought that a move to the English Premier League is of interest.
