Everton launch opening Jordan Pickford bid
Everton have sent an opening gambit to Sunderland in their chase for Sunderlands highly rated young goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
The Mirror is reporting that Everton have sent over an opening bid of £10m for the young goalkeeper which was promptly turned down by the Black Cats hierarchy, who want more than double that figure.
The 23 year old has been one of the only good performers this season in a Sunderland team that has failed to deliver and was subsequently relegated under former Everton manager David Moyes.
Pickford has been in fine form and tops the stats charts of many attributes, despite being relegated and that has lead Everton to submit and opening offer for the player.
Is Pickford the right goalkeeper for Everton?
