Everton could revive their interest in Real Madrid youngster Denis Cheryshev after he expressed doubts over his long-term future at the Bernabeu according to Talksport
The 22-year-old, who featured in Russia’s 1-0 defeat to Spain in the European Under-21 Championship in Thursday, was reported to have been the subject of a failed bid from the Toffees back in November.
David Moyes is thought to have offered £4.8m for the winger, although it was swiftly rebuffed by then Real boss Jose Mourinho.
However, ‘The Special One’s’ departure from the Spanish capital has created further speculation over Cheryshev’s future – and he admits he is unsure where he will be playing next year.
When asked if he would be interested in a switch to the Premier League, he said: “Maybe, I don’t know. I can’t say. I have a contract with Real Madrid for one more season, and I have to wait because I don’t know what the club want to do with me.”
Cheryshev made his senior bow for the nine-time European champions last season, featuring in a domestic cup win against Alcoyano.
Think there is real interest in Cheryshev and would he be a good addition to the blues? Have your say at www.theevertonforum.com.
Another Billy? no thanks
Non story. In case you hadn’t noticed Moyes has left Everton, so the chances of Everton still being interested would be slim to none.
