Everton look to hijack West Ham bid to loan Lacina Traoré

According to Telegraph Sport journalist John Percy (@John_Percy), Everton are set to hijack West Ham’s potential loan deal to sign Monaco forward Lacina Traoré.

Traoré is a young striker that has already moved for a lot of money. Russian club Anzi paid £15 million for the man from Ivory Coast, and after two years have sold him for £16 million to AS Monaco. The French club are looking to loan Traoré out straight away, with their many rich  attacking options ahead of him in the pecking order, mainly Falcao.

Traoré looked like he was heading to West Ham with their striking options down to a minimum, but with Everton in a similar postion it is believed that Blues boss Roberto Martinez wants to scupper the Londoners deal and bring him up to Merseyside. He has scored 64 goals in 138 games, which is a decent scoring record.

    1. From http://www.claretandhugh.info/

FEARS that Lacina Traore can be stolen away from West Ham should contract talks fail are baseless!

The 6ft 8 in striker received his work permit from the Home Office solely in order to play for West Ham and nobody else.

Legally, an organisation has to ‘sponsor’ a worker coming into this country and the work permit is granted to them …and them alone.

Thus, as Traore’s sole sponsor the striker must play for the Irons and there is no chance that the work permit can be taken up by any other club.

Basically, If this deal doesn’t go through, Everton would have to wait 4 months to appeal for their own permit.

    2. Not a chance. The rule is that once a work permit has been granted to one club (WHam) another club cannot request one for 4 months. QED

    3. You cannot get a work permit for him within the next 4 months without West Ham’s or the Home Office’s permission. Go read work permit rules.

    4. It simply can’t happen, the work permit allows him to play for West Ham only, Everton would have to apply themselves………in 4 months.
You really should do some research mate.

    5. Sorry but I’ve read this through and Traores agent has snookered himself by aaccepting West Hams sponsorship. The rules are simple. If Traore does not agree personal terms then Everton can do nothing for 4 months. West Ham are not going to conced the player to Everton after this cheeky attempt to gazump the deal. Not a clever idea Mr Kenwright. lol.

    6. Sorry Comment should read,
As Everton now behave as badly as the other half of merseyside I will never bother to Watch them again.
It’s a shame they were once a side I could repect,
      No longer aparrently
