Everton are keeping tabs on Beşiktaş striker Hugo Almeida and have enquired abouts the Portuguese internationals price according to Turkish Football Website – Turkish-football
The latest developments follow the latest Beşiktaş press conference during which Director of Football Önder Özen told reporters that they would listen to offers for Almeida.
Özen said, “There is no doubting Almeida is a quality player and has had an impressive career.
“He is a Portuguese national team regular however, we need to restructure our wages and and negotiate a more reasonable contract deal with him.
“We will consider offers for Almeida, especially if we can’t reach an agreement regarding his wages.”
Almeida has made no secret of his desire to play in the Premier League.
“It is no secret and I’ve said several times, I would like to play in England or Spain sometime,” Almeida told Portuguese newspaper A Bola last summer.
“I have a contract with Beşiktaş and I will gladly comply because I have been treated very well, but in the world of football things change overnight and if there is something interesting we will consider it.”
Everton have been linked with Almeida a number of times over the past few seasons and recently appointed Everton manager Roberto Martinez will be hoping to increase the Toffees attacking options.
Everton scored the fourth fewest goal in the top half of the English Premier League table this season – 55.
Almeida joined Beşiktaş from Werder Bremen in 2011 on a €2 million transfer fee on a three-year contract. The 29-year-old striker scored nine times and provided seven assists in 20 Turkish Süper Lig appearances this season.
