Everton meet release clause for Aston Villa man
Everton have met the release clause of Aston Villa midfielder Idrissa Gueye according to the Daily Mail.
The 26 year old was available on the cheap following villa’s relegation and reports are that Everton have matched the £7.2m clause.
Gueye was one of the only bright sparks of Villa’s dismal premier league campaign and the Senegal international was only behind former Leicester man N’golo Kante for interceptions in the league
Gueye was signed for Villa for £9m last summer, but due to the relegation is available for a low price.
Would Gueye be a good signing?

You can have him, very average player. Surely Everton could do better?
Villa fan who comes in peace. He was one of the highlights in a very poor season for us but please don’t be fooled by the statistics. He was apparently the 2nd best in the PL at interceptions behind Kante but that was only because he was trying to recover the ball following yet another loose pass from him. A half decent player but you’ll find most Villa fans are not too upset to see him go. Good luck
