Everton missed out on late loan of Portuguese winger
Everton tried to sign Portuguese winger Bruma late in the summer transfer window after his club president Ünal Aysa refused to sanction a loan move for the Galatasaray player.
Bruma’s agent Marco Kirdemir revealed that Sunderland had enquired about a loan beforehand but got injured as he was about to sign and Monaco were also interested in the talented 19 year old.
Speaking on the Radyo Spor podcast, Kirdemir said
“Sunderland wanted to loan Bruma in January,” he said. “However, he got injured a week later and the deal fell through.
“This summer Everton and Monaco wanted Bruma on loan, they had been keeping tabs on him for a while.
“Everton were very keen on signing Bruma, however, Ünal Aysal was not prepared to loan him out. The president made it clear that he would only consider bids for a permanent deal.
“It wouldn’t be a surprise if more offers were made this season, he will be playing Champions League football and is bound to impress.”
United and Chelsea have held a long-term interest in Bruma, whose brother Buomesca Tue Na Bangna plays for Fulham, and Kirdemir thinks the 19-year-old will soon make a switch to English football.
“I can see Bruma playing in the Premier League in the future,” he said.
