Brighton manager Gus Poyet has thrown his hat into the ring for the Everton job after admitting he may have taken the club as far as he can after their promotion bid came to an end according to the DailyMail
Two goals from Wilfried Zaha gave Crystal Palace a 2-0 victory over their arch rivals in the npower Championship play-off semi-final on Monday night.
Poyet was targeted by relegated Reading in March and has been named as potential replacement for Manchester United-bound David Moyes at Everton.
And Poyet will be seeking assurances from club owner Tony Bloom about the level of ambition at the Amex Stadium before deciding on his future.
‘I’ve not been in this situation but I don’t like it,’ he said.
‘It’s changed my view completely about everything I was prepared for, so we’ll see now.
‘I have always said that all the time we keep improving I am going to be at this football club and the day we hit the roof, I’m not.
‘Is there something more? Right now I don’t know, so I need to make sure I know there is, because if not I am not going to stay forever.’
