    Everton open talks for new striker likened to Jamie Vardy

    Everton have opened talks with Deportivo La Coruna over a move for striker Lucas Perez Martinez according to many of todays British Press.

    The £27m striker has long been on the radar of director of football Steve Walsh and is said to be similar in style to his former charge Jamie Vardy.

    Lucas scored 17 goals in La Liga last season and netted the winner in his clubs 2-1 win over Eibar last Friday night.

    Lucas is expected to cost between £12 and £15m.
