First team:
Howard – 4 – At fault for the first goal. Many a coach always say a goalkeeper should be questioned when beaten at their near post too, although that might be quite harsh.
–
Coleman – 6 – Solid enough in defence, not much actually got past him. Attacking was poor, some real poor crosses in good positions.
Jagielka – 6 – A dodgy pass or two but made up for in a great block or two. Couldn’t have done much about the goals.
Distin – 7 – Good enough.
Baines – 6 – A great cross and pull-back. Caught out up field for their second but that’s always going to happen at one stage or another.
–
Naismith – 6 – Took his goal well but his overall play was quite poor. Not a surprise considering a lack of recent games.
Gibson – 7 – Thought his passing was good and wasn’t afraid to shoot. A good part of a decent team performance.
Fellaini – 6 – A tough one. At times in dominance but at other times seemed too casual.
Pienaar – 6 – Not as big influence as usual but part of the good spells.
Mirallas – 5 – I will always say one of two things for Mirallas’ performances. Either great or very average. Unfortunately today was the latter. That’s what you get with flair players.
–
Anichebe – 6 – Did well to hold it up at times and a good touch to set up Naismith for the goal. Overall just didn’t do enough.

Subs:
Jelavic – 5 – A great chance missed and a header that should have been directed into a corner of the net. 🙁
Heitinga – 6 – Thought he did alright in midfield to be honest.
