Everton playing the £8m long transfer game
Everton will try and snatch Southampton striker Shane Long from under the noses of city rivals Liverpool according to a report in the times.
Stoke City are also trying to sign the Republic of Ireland international who was signed by Southampton from Hull City.
Longs place is under threat following their signing of Charlie Austin and a report in the British press says that the south coast club rejected an offer of £8m from Liverpool last week.
Everton are looking for a replacement for Steven Naismith who was sold to Norwich City for £8.5m yesterday.
Would Shane Long be a good signing for Everton?

Not consistent enough, better than Kone though, bout the same as Naismith! Be a good squad player.
Yes,, better than Kone playing at present
Hi moving on, and looking towards Wed, majority are saying sack RM now, 3rd choice was sack him if we lose at City, which i agree with! Even if we get through on Wed but lose at Carlisle, sack him next Mon! Ive completely had enough of his bullshit, he hasn’t got a defensive bone in his body and Will take us down, which is nowhere near good enough!
Hi Carol again, dont you think its Wigan happening all over? I want that League Cup, But i want Martinez gone, Swansea was the last straw, i firmly believe get a new manager and our luck will change!!!
