    Everton pledge long term support for Aaron Lennon, even if out of contract

    Everton have offered to support Aaron Lennon through his health battles even if he is out of contract at Everton.

    The blues winger was detained under the Mental Health act by police after suffering a stress related illness and Everton manager Ronald Koeman has said that the only thing that matters is Lennons health and the club will provide long-term support.  Lennon has one year left on his current contract, but the blues will continue to support the player long into the future.

    “Aaron is still one year more contract and of course it is a long term support if it is a long term problem,” Koeman said.

    “Ok, we will support and help him to come back if it takes time, it takes time – we don’t drop the support to him.”

    Meanwhile former Everton striker Andy Johnson has raised over £13k for the Mind Charity with his tweet that has currently been retweeted over 135k times.
