Everton pressing ahead with plans to sign George Hirst
Everton are set to press ahead with plans to sign Sheffield Wednesday striker George Hirst as they look to revamp their Under 23’s squad according to the Liverpool Echo.
The 19 year old is a long term target of the blues but is out of contract at the end of the season and looks set to leave the Owls following a break down in contract talks.
Manchester United are also interested in signing Hirst, who is the son of former Sheffield Wednesday and England legend David Hirst.
Hirst has been prolific at Under 23 and England junior level but has struggled to break into the first team squad at Wednesday under a series of manager but his signing would prove a big coup if Everton can pull it off.
Hirst would his progress would mirror fellow South Yorkshire signings Mason Holgate and Dominic Calvert-Lewin who have established themselves in the Everton first team squad.
Would Hirst be a good signing for Everton?

If he can’t get in the Wednesday team, then he’s not good enough for Everton!
I can’t Believe some fans are so narrowminded. He wouldn’t be for now,but for the future…
