Everton are pursuing Espanyol defender Hector Moreno but face the sternest of competition in the shape of Real Madrid and Swansea according to Spanish newspaper AS
The 25-year-old Mexico international has been a revelation in his first season with the Barcelona-based club but Roberto Martinez is aware of him from his time at AZ Alkmaar.
Tough and talented, Moreno looks ideally equipped for the Premier League. The 25-year-old is a regular for Mexico and has won 46 caps, playing in the 2010 World Cup finals.
The Spanish side are currently enduring financial difficulties and will be willing to let one of their star players leave for the right price, although Swansea had a £7m rejected recently
