    Everton to rival Newcastle for Greek international

    Everton are set to make a move for Benfica midfielder Andreas Samaris according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola.

    The 28 year old midfielder has been linked with a move to St James’s Park but now Everton look set to rival the Geordies with a €16m bid.

    The report says that this bid has been turned down but they could go back in with another offer to land the 6ft 2 Greece international.

    Samaris was signed in 2014 for €10m and played 18 times for Benfica last season.
