Everton set for Andrew Robertson fight with West Ham
Everton manager Roberto Martinez is set to go head to head with Sam Allardyce over the signing of long term target Andrew Robertson of Dundee United according to the Daily Post.
The Spaniard has been a long term admirer of the left-back and has seen bids rejected for the Scotland international in the past. Now West Ham United have bid for the impressive left-back after seeing a £1.5m bid rejected by the Tannadice club.
The 20 year old is one of the most promising youngsters to come from Scotland and was playing part-time football less than 2 ago with Queens Park.
On the sale of Robertson, United chairman Stephen Thompson refused to be drawn on the subject when asked by Sky Sports.
“I’m not going to comment on that,” he said. “I prefer to comment when business is done. If they prefer to comment, that is fine, but I am saying no more at the moment.”
Dundee United have only recently sold Ryan Gauld to Sporting Lisbon.
According to the report, Robertson would be loaned out for the season to gain experience.
