Everton are continuing to keep tabs on FC Twente star Leroy Fer, who saw a move to Goodison Park collapse in January according to Sky Sports News
The Dutch international midfielder was reportedly close to finalising a move to Everton late in January but the deal was called off after an issue arose between the two clubs.
But Everton are seemingly remaining on the player’s trail as Sky Sports understands they watched him play at the weekend as Twente lost to Vitesse Arnhem.
A Twente spokesman refused to comment on Everton specifically but told Sky Sports: “There were a number of English clubs at the game.”
Fer himself admits that he still has a high regard for Everton, and told Algemeen Dagblad: “It is still a fantastic club. But at the moment I am not thinking about it.
“Only one thing counts right now: ending the season at FC Twente in a good way.”
Fer has made 2 appearances for the national team having made his name with Feyenoord before the switch to FC Twente
