Everton will attempt to sign French forward Loic Remy, if the Blues can’t keep hold of Lukaku ahead of next season.
Remy, 27, has been Newcastle’s shining light this season, scoring 14 league goals despite being injured for large parts.
It is reported by the Daily Star that Everton will face competition for the signing from London clubs Tottenham and Arsenal, with £10 million set to be the starting asking price. Both clubs have had issues with their strikers this summer, with £27 million Soldado not adjusting to the Premier League and Arsenal’s Giroud coming under fire for his commitment in certain games. The player in question was recently spotted watching an Arsenal game at the Emirates.
It is not yet confirmed whether Remy fits into the French squad ahead of the World Cup, however it is most likely. This would mean that both Everton targets will be away and trying to impress and will return a lot later than usual, meaning less of a pre-season. It could also mean that current prices that are being branded about will be significantly raised due to a good showing in Brazil.
Apart from the obvious reasons for leaving us, the main one is he wants champions league football, preferably at Arsenal. I’d very very surprised if he ends up at Everton, no disrespect like
