Everton to follow Stones, Galloway & Holgate success with new bid
Everton are set to follow their successful blueprint of signing talented young defenders from the lower leagues with a bid for promising Bury youngster Matty Foulds according to ESPN and the Manchester Evening News.
The 17 year old has been the subject to bids from Premier League clubs and the league one club may cash in on one of their most promising players.
Foulds hasn’t made his debut for Bury yet in the league but impressed in their league cup outing against Leicester City and that has seen a number of clubs show their interest including Everton, and Aston Villa.
Foulds was left out of the Johnstones paint trophy squad this week.
“I’m protecting Matty, we’ve got some very good bids in for him now,” Bury manager David Flitcroft told the club’s official website.
“It’s been bubbling along for a week now and some fantastic football clubs want his services.
“We took a business decision to not play Matty, with the organisation and the business at the forefront of my mind, because I didn’t want this game upsetting that or getting in the way of that.”
Is Foulds the kind of signing Everton should be making?
