Everton have joined Fiorentina in the race for CSKA Moscow midfielder Keisuke Honda.
Honda has a number of suitors and is expected to be the subject of much interest in the summer transfer window as his contract at CSKA Moscow expires at the end of December, and no agreement has so far been reached to extend this.
According to Russian daily Izvestia, Everton and Fiorentina have both made contact with Honda’s agent to register their interest in the Japan international, as the race to buy the 26-year-old picks up pace.
A raft of sides have been linked with Honda, including Liverpool, Inter, Lazio and Manchester City.
The midfielder’s contract with CSKA Moscow expires at the end of December this year and so far there is no agreement over an extension to be signed by the player.
Honda has been in good form this season, playing 19 times in the Russian Premier League, scoring seven goals and providing five assists.
