    Everton to move for 22 year old defender

    Everton are showing interest in young Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson and could make a move for him over the summer if other transfer targets fail to materialise.

    The Mirror says that the toffee’s could move for the defender if a move for Nemanja Vidic fails.

    The England under 21 defender is highly rated and Liverpool and Manchester City have also shown interest in signing the player.

    Everton are in the need for more defensive cover having lost Sylvain Distin and Antolin Alcaraz on free transfers over the summer and Gibson fits the bill of young talent that Martinez is trying to attract to the club.
