Roberto Martinez wants Nathan Dyer at Everton according to The S*n
The Toffees boss is preparing a £5million swoop for the Swansea winger.
That is more than 10 times the £400,000 Martinez paid Southampton to take him to the Swans in 2009.
Dyer, 25, made more than 160 appearances for the Welsh club.
He scored twice and was man of the match when they beat Bradford 5-0 in the Capital One Cup Final in February.
Dyer has a year left on his contract at the Liberty Stadium.
And Martinez hopes to lure him with a three-year deal worth £40,000-a-week.
Martinez has also been reunited with key members of his Wigan backroom staff.
Assistant Graeme Jones, chief scout Kevin Reeves and goalkeeping coach Inaki Bergara have all followed the Spaniard to the Premier League club.
Would Dyer be a good signing for Everton or is £5m too expensive for a player with a year left on his contract? Have your say at www.theevertonforum.com
Nathan is a tricky winger who has shown he can turn defenders inside out in the PL.
He is generally a poor finisher and very poor crosser of the ball.
He gives 110% and is very good as a covering defending winger.
If Everton want him then they are going to have to pay a lot more the 5 million pounds for Nathan. He is very quick and probably the quickest still in the premier league and he is happy at Swansea as all the players are at the club. He also knows he is playing a very important part in the success of the club and I am sure he will not want to miss out on Europa this coming season with the club.
John, he has 1 year left on his contract. IF he doesn’t sign a new contract Swansea will be lucky to get half that. Bear in mind £5m would get you Keisuke Honda.
Ye ok mate, Swansea….hello!!
nathan wont go he is to swanseafied !!!!!!!
Like I said to ye mate…ye Swansea and we are Everton if we want him he will come boyo!!
Hope not. Not good enough.
I sincerely hope this isn’t on the cards. I’ve never been impressed watching him. One of those footballers that doesn’t know what he’s going to do with the ball just runs.
I lived in Swansea for nearly 2 years, and I know what the guy means by Swanseafied 🙂 Is the most beautiful place in Britain. That said, you have 1 street of night clubs (wind street) and everyone knows what you are up to !!! Does he want to move to a bigger city ? to a bigger club ??? and lets not argue, Everton are the bigger club !!! and to a team who will pay him more money ??? that is the obvious one, if someone offers you £15k more than where you are, what are you going to do ??? He’s a nice lad btw, dealt to him a few times in the casino before it shut down. BUT…… He is easily led and needs to mature as a person. My view !!!
Would prefer Scott Sinclair from City any day of the week.
