Funes Mori: I like to score goals
Everton defender Ramiro Funes Mori wants to help in the goalscoring department and admits that although his first job is defender, he loves scoring goals.
The big Argentinian has scored many goals throughout his career, but is yet to notch this season, but he feels that if he keeps training hard then the first goal is just around the corner.
“My job is first to defend but I like to score goals,” said Funes. “I have scored many in my career. Hopefully I can soon find the first one of this year but it will come by itself if I keep training well.
“It’s always a great feeling to score. Obviously my main role in the team is to make sure we don’t concede – and I’ll make sure that remains my priority – but I want to be able to play a part in scoring, too.”
Funes Mori also believes that Everton can still climb the table despite being in competition with some very good teams.
“We need to keep getting points,” said the 25-year-old. “We want to move further up the table if we can.
“It’s going to be hard because there are really good teams but we have the players to climb the table. Maybe the Europa League is possible if we keep aiming for the top.”
