Galatasaray want Everton defender
Everton defender Johnny Heitinga is now wanted by Roberto Mancini’s Galatasaray, who are battling Italian club Roma to his signature.
Heitinga has already turned down West Ham United and is thought to be on the radar of various clubs in Italy and Turkey.
Roma are looking to replace Nicolas Burdisso who was sold to Genoa this week and the Italians see the defender as the perfect replacement.
Fabio Parisi, Heitingas agent has stated that Roma would definitely be interested and Heitinga, who is out of contract in the summer, is keen to move to secure a place in the Holland World cup squad for Brazil.
“After the sale of Burdisso, Roma may need a defender,” he said.
“They know that Heitinga can be taken on special conditions without paying anything, because he has not been playing with Everton and he wanted to go to the World Cup.
“Indeed, I deny that there has been any negotiation with Roma, while there are two teams that have come forward and one is Galatasaray.”
