Galloway: Playing for Everton is what dreams are made of
Everton youngster Brendan Galloway was beaming after making his first start for Everton in the Premier League and says that this is what dreams are made of.
The youngster only found out he was playing 90 minutes before kick off and says that it has come about following some hard work on the training pitch and he now says the effort is paying off.
“I’ve worked hard all season and to get rewarded like this is what dreams are made of,” Galloway said.
“I found out at 1.30pm when the manager named the team. I wasn’t expecting it.
“I worked hard in training this week but I didn’t expect to be given the nod, but when I did I was really happy and looking forward to it.
“I thought the team did really well. It was important to get the win and to do it at the end made it more special.”
Galloway feels that Phil Jagielka and Leon Osman used their experience to help him through the game too.
“[Jagielka] played a massive role, as he was always talking to me and I thought the whole team helped,” Galloway said.
“Ossie did down the left-hand side. I thought we had a good partnership and he helped out defensively and offensively as well.
“I train with these guys and they talked to me beforehand so I knew what to expect. I don’t think I was shocked but they helped me perform well.”
